Horne Learning Center Referral Processes

Horne Learning Center (HLC) is the alternative school for the Valdosta City School system.  There are six different referral processes for admission into the HLC.  Administrators will use one of the attached flow charts below to determine the best enrollment process for individual students based on their needs and/or violations to the Student Code of Conduct.

Referral Process #1:  Student Transferring in from another District's Alternative Education Program

Referral Process #2:  Regular Education Student Commits Infraction Punishable by Tribunal (Level IV)

Referral Process #3:  Regular Education Student with Persistent Violation(s) of the Student Code of Conduct

Referral Process #4:  Special Education Student Commits Infraction Punishable by Tribunal (Level IV)

Referral Process #5:  Special Education Student with Persistent Violation(s) of the Student Code of Conduct

Referral Process #6:  Regular Education Student Requests Permission to Attend the PLC (Student/Parent Choice)
