VFD Honors 2007-2008 Junior Fire Marshals at
Ceremony
The Junior
Fire Marshals and their family members were
treated to a dinner at Mathis Auditorium and
recognized for the fulfillment of their
personal commitments made at the beginning
of the school year. Each made a pledge to
be responsible for learning and sharing
valuable information about fire safety and
to be a positive role model among their
peers.
Special
guests for the ceremony were Valdosta Mayor
John J. Fretti and Municipal Court Judge
Vernita Bender, who delivered a meaningful
message to the young leaders with simple
tips that challenged them to live with
character and integrity.
Chief Rice
called all the participants “winners” and
commended them for being positive role
models and for taking fire education
seriously. Each participant received a
certificate from Mayor John J. Fretti:
