Valdosta Board of Education approves new
principal for high school
The Valdosta Board
of Education approved Gary B. Boling as the new
principal of Valdosta High School on Monday,
June 23.
Boling comes to
Valdosta from North Cobb High School in
Kennesaw. He has several years of experience in
different areas of school administration,
including ten years as a middle and high school
principal, four years as an assistant principal,
and eleven years as a Social Studies teacher and
coach.
The new high school
principal has Georgia Educator Certificates in
Educational Leadership and History. Boling
graduated from Mississippi State University with
a Bachelor of Arts in History and later received
his Masters in History from The State University
of West Georgia. He received his Educational
Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from
the University of Alabama.
During his time as
principal at North Cobb, Boling added a magnet
school, The North Cobb School for International
Studies. He also presided over multi-million
dollar renovations and facility additions. In
addition he assisted the North Cobb High
Business department in receiving Industry
Certification, making it the only Cobb County
school to obtain this designation. Among many
other accomplishments, Boling was named STAR
Teacher as well as Teacher of the Year.
He and his wife
Cindy Johnson Boling have been married for
twenty five years and have three children,
Jeremy, Brianna, and Patrick. He can be reached
