Accelerated Reader students win limo ride
A record number of students won a top
Accelerated Reader prize this year at WGN.
Twelve 2nd and 3rd grade students who had earned
at least 125 reading points were treated Friday
to a limousine ride, lunch and games at CiCi's
Pizza, and dessert at Dairy Queen by Gary Mims,
WGN principal. The coveted prize was awarded to
the ten 3rd graders and two 2nd graders who
accumulated 125 reading points.
Numerous other prizes such as T-shirts,
backpacks, and McDonald's Happy Meals, along
with more modest prizes of candy and toys are
awarded for various point increases and reading
level changes throughout the year. Students that
attain 200 points receive stereo systems, and
the 3 top overall students win bicycles.
Accelerated Reader keeps students reading at W.G.
