Summer camp for gifted students

Teachers involved in the Gifted Endorsement classes culminated their course of study by offering a week long summer camp for gifted students. The Cultural Connections Camp featured the countries of Egypt, France, Japan, and Madagascar. Course offerings included Cultural Dance Express by Alicia Clarke
(JLL), Buildings of the World by Lawren Hadden (SLM), Crafty Creations by Gina Melton (SM), Fascinating Facts and Funky Food by Nancy Sartin (SM), Information Highway by Linda Sermons (JLL), and Outscrapping with Rare Animals of the World by Deitrice Wright (NMS).  Camp coordinator Resa Harris (SM) notes that the camp was a huge success and a great way to advance the creative thinking skills of gifted students while simultaneously nurturing an appreciation for cultural diversity.
