The Georgia Department of Education School Nutrition Program announces that Georgia schools may participate in the Seamless Summer Option for the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs in school year 2022. A school district or a single school may offer meals at no charge to all students.
Households are not required to complete meal applications to qualify for meals at no cost.
During the May 25, Valdosta Board of Education meeting we recognized 34 retirees from across our district. Together these outstanding men and women have spent an accumulated 788 years working with the boys and girls of Valdosta City Schools.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit will provide a discount of up to $50 per month toward broadband service for eligible families and households who are struggling to stay connected during the #COVID19 pandemic.
Valdosta City Schools will provide breakfast and lunch at no cost to all VCS students enrolled in summer school or in an extracurricular activity. These meals will be available at all school locations.
In accordance with this 2009 state law (O.C.G.A 20-2-2131) parents/guardians may request to transfer their child to another school within the district if adequate, permanent classroom space is available at the requested school.
