Greetings VCS Family,
As you know, we’ve been experiencing unprecedented times that have altered our normal mode of operation. However, I continue to be amazed at your resiliency and dedication to ensuring our students’ experiences are the best they can be. Without question, that Wildcat pride and fight rose in each and every one of you!
Like you, I continue to be concerned about what’s next as it relates to COVID-19 and schools. Rest assured we are monitoring reports coming out of Atlanta and Washington in order to stay as informed as we can to ensure we make the best decisions for you and our students.
There continues to be many unknowns, but, what is certain is that schools will remain physically closed through the end of May. At this time, there have been no discussions or decisions as to when schools will reopen. We continue to be prayerful for the return of some sense of normalcy by August. But, this all depends on the guidance we receive.
Even though we have been physically closed for several weeks and will continue to be for several more weeks, students, I encourage you to remain mentally open. Continue communicating with your teachers, continue completing online and printed assignments, and continue reading as much as possible. We must finish the academic year strongly.
Parents, we have created a frequently asked questions document that should provide answers to many of your questions. Please visit the Valdosta City Schools’ webpage at https://bit.ly/2W2mt2C.
Remember, we are all in this together!
