Personal Item Pick-up from Schools

Elementary Schools

J.L. Lomax Elementary School

Item pick-up times will be from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
 
Parents will drive up to the front entrance and remain in their vehicle. A staff member will come out to assist them. Parents will need to communicate the child’s name, child’s homeroom teacher and wait for staff member to retrieve items.

Returning items: Parents will need to return library book(s) or other items that were not returned before school closing. If the parent has an item to return to the school, please let the staff member know when arriving.

Pinevale Elementary School

Pinevale Elementary School will be open Wednesday, May 20, through Friday, May 22, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Parents may return any textbooks and library books during these dates and times at the designated areas to avoid any fines or charges that may occur.

Parents may retrieve items that have been confiscated during the school year during these dates and times on the designated grade level days listed below.

Please adhere to the designated date for your child's grade level in order to receive any confiscated items in a timely manner.

***Wednesday, May 20, 2020--Kindergarten and 4th Grade students

***Thursday, May 21, 2020-- 1st and 5th Grade students

***Friday, May 22, 2020--2nd and 3rd Grade students

Sallas Mahone Elementary School

Most items have been returned to students.  If anyone still has an item left inside the building, please contact your student's teacher directly.  If you do not have that email address, feel free to connect through the school's Facebook page.  

S. L. Mason Elementary School

  • Teachers will communicate with parents for those students who have remaining items in the classroom.
  • Teachers will document the communication in Infinite Campus and place the items in a labeled bag.
  • Curbside pickup will take place on June 1, from 8:00 - 10:00 AM.
  • Parents can also communicate with the teacher about their child’s belongings left at school, and the above process will be used.

W. G. Nunn Elementary School

Picking up Personal Items for Students

Parents will need to contact their child’s teacher about picking up any personal items that were left at school, school pictures, and/or refunds from field day t-shirts.

The teacher will bag and tag the items and place them in the main office for parent pick-up

Parents will be allowed to pick up the items from the school on Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Parents will drive to the front circle (do not get out of the car), a staff member will get the student’s name and teacher, the staff member will retrieve the items and hand them to the parent.

Picking up Student Medication

Parents will need to contact the school nurse (jbrandon@gocats.org) about picking up any medications that were left at school.

Parents will be allowed to pick up the items from the school on Monday, May 18, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 to 3:30 PM.

Parents will drive to the front circle (do not get out of the car), the nurse will retrieve the items and hand them to the parent.

Returning Library Books

Parents are asked to drop books in a dropbox at the school on Monday, May 18 through Wednesday, May 20 from 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Parents will drive to the front circle (do not get out of the car), a drop box will be located so the parent can reach out their car window and place the book in a dropbox.

Thank you for your efforts in assisting the school and teachers as we make every effort to bring closure to the 2019-20 school year.

Dr. Hunt will reach out to any parents of students with medication left at the school to arrange a pick-up process.

VHS Band members are invited to drive up to the band room area (doors students enter and exit for band practice) on Tuesday, May 19 from 5 to 8:00 PM to retrieve band instruments, personal items and any awards left behind when schools closed.  Band directors will be on hand to assist students when they arrive.

Anyone needing personal items out of PE/athletic lockers should come on Wednesday, May 20, from 10 AM until 12:00 PM, entering through the main doors of the gymnasium.  Coaches will be on hand to assist students when they arrive.

Additional information from other schools in our district will be updated here as it becomes available.  For the safety of our faculty, staff, parents, and community stakeholders every facility will be practicing social distancing and following all national, state, and local public health guidelines.
