NMS Receives $50 Gift Cards from WalMart

On Wednesday, September 30, CPIE Jackie Burgman and associates from Walmart on Norman Drive in Valdosta, paid a visit to Newbern Middle School.  Newbern Middle School was adopted this year by Walmart to reward teachers through their Walmart Foundation’s Teacher Rewards program.  Twenty lucky teachers were chosen to receive a $50 gift card to be used to help offset the cost of stocking their classroom with supplies or nutritious snacks for students.
According to the Walmart Foundation website, through the Teacher Rewards program, more than 4,600 U.S. Walmart stores, Distribution Centers and Sam’s Club locations are eligible to select one local kindergarten through eighth grade public school and provide $50 reward cards to 20 teachers. Winning teachers can use the funds to purchase essential items for their classrooms such as paper, folders, binders, clipboards, pens, pencils, crayons and markers.  Teachers very often use their own money to provide supplies and snacks for their students. Walmart thanks teachers for having a commitment to educate the students of today and building the leaders of tomorrow.
The teachers who were rewarded with a Teacher Rewards card were Arquillia Morris, Fayris Francis, Sametha Ross, Mona Thomas, Shenell Collier, Paige Berry, Fletcher Johnson, Jonathan Headen, Valerie Smith, Ashley Shoener, Ernie Hammond, Tonyour Alexander, Tiffany Lampkin, Lisa Daw, Angel Douglas, Jamal Hunter, Faith Taylor, Sherrie Graham, Don Nelson, and Florence McFadden. Thank you Walmart for choosing to adopt Newbern Middle School this year for the Teacher Rewards program!
