VHS and VMS French Students Compete in the World Languages Poetry Recitation Competition

Students in the 8th grade French class memorized the poem Pour Ma Mere by Maurice Careme.  Five of them were able to travel to Coweta, Georgia to recite their poem.  After introducing themselves in French, the students recited the poem in front of three judges.  They were marked on memorization, pronunciation, pacing, and eye contact.

All of the VMS students performed well enough to earn ribbons.  Houston Vanlandingham and Amelia Barnett received a Superior ranking, Fola Asebiomo received an Excellent, and Cesar Carrillo and Alanis Valentin each received Notable.

Narada Williams from VHS memorized two poems for her recitation.  She received a marking of Good.  Congratulations to each of these students and thanks to Ms. Pam Hubert for her work with them.
