Vote for the VCS Academic Calendar

We apologize for the inconvenience, however, the previous calendar options have been updated to reflect 180 days for students and 190 for faculty.

Please vote for your top choices for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic calendars for Valdosta City Schools. Voting will close Friday, February 24 so the Valdosta Board of Education can take action on adopting the academic calendars for the next two years.

Here are the differences between Option A and Option B for both calendar years:

Option A for 2017-18 includes:
4 days of pre-planning
2 day Fall Break in October followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 3 day student holiday
11 day Christmas Break
1 day Winter Break in February followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 2 day student holiday
2 days of post planning

Option B for 2017-18 includes:
4 days of pre-planning
2 day Fall Break in October followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 3 day student holiday
10 day Christmas Break
2 day Winter Break in February followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 3 day student holiday
2 days of post planning

Option A for 2018-19 includes:
4 days of pre-planning
1 day Fall Break in October followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 2 day student holiday
11 day Christmas Break
1 day Winter Break in February followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 2 day student holiday
2 day of post planning

Option B for 2018-19 includes:

4 days of pre-planning
2 days of Fall Break in October followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 3 day student holiday
10 day Christmas Break
1 day Winter Break followed by a teacher in-service day, meaning a 2 day student holiday
2 days of post planning
