VHS Students Selected for Lowndes Youth Leadership League

“It is really important to showcase our community to our future leaders and workforce”, said Angie Crawford, president of the Leadership Lowndes.  “We want to make sure that when these students graduate from high school, they are aware of the opportunities to be successful in Valdosta-Lowndes County”, said Crawford.

The 2019 LYLL class members are made up of students from Georgia Christian School, Lowndes High School, Open Bible Christian School, Valwood School, Home School and Valdosta High School.  The eleven VHS students include:

  • Owen Anderson, Valdosta High School
  • Brooke Berlin, Valdosta High School
  • Pate Hogan, Valdosta High School
  • Albert Kang, Valdosta High School
  • Jay Patel, Valdosta High School
  • Christen Powell, Valdosta High School
  • William Richards, Valdosta High School
  • Sage Steedley, Valdosta High School
  • Maggie Tarpley, Valdosta High School
  • Beth-Anne Thornton, Valdosta High School

The LYLL program includes a new class reception, a weekend retreat, three program days and a graduation ceremony. And, like the Leadership Lowndes program, the LYLL participants are also required to participate in a community service project benefiting a local non-profit.
