Valdosta City School Social Workers are fully licensed and provide services to students, families and schools with the primary focus of removing barriers to academic success. School Social Workers are a vital part of the total educational process. They work in collaboration with school psychologists, school counselors, school nurses, teachers, administrators, parents and various community agencies. Information obtained through these resources is then integrated to provide social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive functioning support to the student and his or her family. School Social Workers are required to hold a Master of Social Work degree and are certified through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Social workers are available to students and families, both virtual and face to face. Virtual office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday
