Justin Crenshaw grew up in South Georgia, graduating from Irwin County High School in 1994. He continued his education at Valdosta State University where he received his BA in sociology and anthropology. While at VSU, Justin became involved with campus ministry where he met his wife, Allison Crenshaw. Together they are the heart of student ministry at The Porch Community Church where Justin serves as the Student and Worship Pastor. The Crenshaw family has resided in Valdosta for the past 24 years, staying involved in community youth ministry programs the entire time.
They are the proud parents of three Valdosta City Schools’ students. Two at Valdosta High School; a senior, Carson (18) and a freshman, Colbie (15) and Camryn (11) a 6th grader at Valdosta Middle School’s STEM Academy. Allison works in Valdosta City Schools as a Speech Language Pathologist at J.L. Lomax Elementary School.
Crenshaw also serves as the chaplain for the Valdosta Wildcats varsity football team and has been a community coach for the middle school 6th grade team for seven years. The Crenshaws have provided continued support to parent-teacher organizations of Sallas Mahone Elementary, J.L. Lomax Elementary, Valdosta Middle and Valdosta High School. Justin understands the importance of parent involvement and sees first-hand how that involvement can promote positive change not only for students, but for teachers as well.
For Justin, serving on the Valdosta Board of Education means listening to the community and school system employees to create a unified team, ultimately providing a quality educational experience for students and teachers alike. He desires to be the catalyst of positive change to improve the culture and climate of Valdosta City Schools.
Justin Crenshaw looks forward to meeting those he will serve throughout Superward West and the city of Valdosta as a whole.
