Title I Parent and Family Engagement Program

Sallas Mahone Elementary School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). Title I is designed to support State and local school reform efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parental involvement. All Title I schools must jointly develop with all parents a written parental involvement policy.

The Sallas Mahone Elementary School Parent and Family Engagement Program seeks to improve student achievement by partnering with parents and other stakeholders.  The School Improvement Plan, Parent and Family Engagement Policy, and School Parent Compact outline in detail how the Parent and Family Engagement Program works and what roles parents, teachers, and students play in the success of school-wide initiatives. Parent and Family Engagement Activities are listed on the School Calendar.

The Stakeholder Feedback Survey provides parents, guardians, and stakeholders the opportunity to give input and review the School Improvement Plan, Parent Involvement Plan, and School Parent Compact. These documents can be found on the right hand side of this page and in the Parent Resource Center, which is in the SME front lobby. After reviewing these documents, please provide feedback to us. We value your input and use it to revise these documents and procedures for the upcoming year.
