What is Dual Enrollment (DE)?

The purpose of the Dual Enrollment program is to promote and increase access to postsecondary educational opportunities for Georgia high school students. Students take postsecondary coursework for credit towards both high school graduation requirements and postsecondary certificates, diploma or associate degree requirements.

What are the options for Dual Enrollment participation?

There are two options to participate in Dual Enrollment through Valdosta High School.

Option 1: Students enroll in dual enrollment classes through Wiregrass Technical College on the campus of Valdosta High School.

Option 2: Students participate in dual enrollment classes on the college campus. For example: Georgia Military College, Valdosta State University, or Wiregrass Technical College.

What are the admission requirements for Dual Enrollment?

Georgia Military College - Minimum cumulative unweighted high school grade point average 2.50 on a 4.00 scale.

Valdosta State University - Minimum 3.0 academic GPA

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (Academic Dual Enrollment Classes) - 2.6 academic GPA

What are the deadlines for Dual Enrollment participation?

By the deadlines below, student and parent/guardian must complete the outlined steps according to their preferred location of dual enrollment participation below.

Fall Semester - March 30

Spring Semester - October 15

Summer Semester - March 15
