Dress Code and Dance Behavior

COVID-19 Protocol

Who can attend the Prom?

VHS Senior and Junior students who are in good standing academically and have no behavior referrals may attend prom. VHS seniors and juniors may bring one guest.  Guest will have to complete the VHS Prom Agreement Form and the Non Student Guest Approval Form.

When is the Prom?
The VHS Senior-Junior Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 7:30 PM-10:30 PM. The prom will end promptly at 10:30 PM.

Where is the Prom?
The Prom will be held in the Valdosta High School Gymnasium.

What can I use for a photo ID at Dance check-in?
You must present a
physical 2023-2024 school ID card. No photos of school ID cards will be accepted. If you do not have a school ID, please see Ms. Bennett or Mrs. Jackson in the media center to have your school ID printed.  The cost of a replacement ID is $5.00.

How much are Prom tickets?
The cost for an individual ticket is $30. The cost for a couple is $50.  Cash only. No refunds.

Where do I buy a ticket?
Prom tickets may be purchased during lunch in the VHS Courtyard across from the VHS Cafeteria.

When can I purchase Prom tickets?
Prom tickets will be sold from April 15 - May 3 during all lunches (11:24 AM – 1:42 PM). There will be NO tickets sold at the Prom.

What items do I need to bring to purchase Prom tickets?

You will need to bring your 2023-2024 school ID and a signed Prom Agreement form.  A signed VHS Prom Agreement form is required for each student and their guest.

What is the dress code?

Females-Dresses must be finger-tip length; No excessively revealing, short, backless, high slits, cut-outs, low-cut dresses will be allowed.

Males-Dress pants or khakis, dress shirts tucked in, and ties are required. No jeans will be allowed.

Students in violation of the dress code WILL be asked to leave.

No refunds will be issued.

What are the behavior rules for the Prom?
Suggestive or inappropriate dancing will not be tolerated. This is a school-sponsored event. Please understand you WILL be asked to leave if you cannot dance appropriately.

Students who have behavior issues (ISS, suspension, etc.) will not be allowed to attend the Prom. No refunds will be issued.

All students MUST agree to abide by all the rules in place that govern our students at activities/events. This may include a breathalyzer and/or onsite drug testing if there is reasonable suspicion. Any student found to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be turned over to the police.

Covid-19 Procedures:

VHS faculty, staff, and students will adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines established by the Centers of Disease Control (CDC). You should not attend prom if you are sick or have COVID-19 symptoms.
