Title 1 Parent and Family Engagement Program

Valdosta Middle School is identified as a Title I school as part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). Title I is designed to support State and local school reform efforts to improve teaching and learning for students. Title I programs must be based on effective means of improving student achievement and include strategies to support parental involvement. All Title I schools must jointly develop a written parental engagement policy with all parents.

The Valdosta Middle School Parent Engagement Program seeks to improve student achievement by partnering with parents and other stakeholders.  The School Improvement Plan, Parent Engagement Policy, and School-Parent Compact outline in detail how the Parent Engagement Program works and what roles parents, teachers, and students play in the success of school-wide initiatives.   Parent Engagement Activities are listed on the School Calendar.
