Earlier this morning, J.L. Lomax Elementary School and Valdosta City School of Scholars experienced a temporary power outage that caused a brief disruption to the school day. Throughout the outage, students remained safe on campus, and School Nutrition staff at both schools ensured that all students received breakfast despite the loss of power.
We are happy to share that power has now been fully restored at both campuses, and the remainder of the school day will resume as normal, including our scheduled early dismissal as we head into Winter Holiday Break.
We sincerely appreciate the patience and understanding of our families as we navigated this unexpected situation. As always, the safety and care of our students and staff remain the foundation of all that we do.
