Sometimes a great opportunity begins with a teacher asking:
“What if we could?”
For Lisa Daw at Valdosta Middle School, that question became a brand-new Jr. Tome Society chapter, thanks in part to support from the VCS Foundation.
In its very first year, students read, created, competed and attended TomeCon, where they had the opportunity to meet authors whose books they had read. One VMS student even earned 2nd place in competition!
But Lisa said something that gets right to the heart of this campaign:
“When many of us give a little, it gives teachers the opportunity to do something a little bigger for our students. You may never know which student your $5 helped, but that student may remember the experience for years.”
That's it. That's why we GiVe.
Your $5 doesn't have to fund an entire experience. It joins someone else's $5, and another, and another, until a teacher's “What if we could?” becomes “Look what we did.”
