Valdosta High School Basketball invites all school staff, students, families, and fans to join us for a special Play4Kay basketball event supporting cancer awareness and research for women. Every minute, a woman in the U.S. is diagnosed with cancer—mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, spouses, and friends—impacting nearly every one of us in some way. Join us in doing something for the greater good that goes far beyond wins and losses.
Date: January 31, 2026
Game Times:
JV Girls – 2:00 PM
JV Boys – 3:30 PM
Varsity Girls – 5:00 PM
Varsity Boys – 6:30 PM
Location: Valdosta High School Gymnasium
Matchup: vs. Lowndes County Vikings
Fans are encouraged to wear pink as we come together to support those impacted by cancer. During the evening, we will proudly honor Mrs. Lori Gurley, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2024, and Mrs. Dana Stephens, a breast cancer survivor—both valued members of Valdosta City Schools.
Special Recognition: During halftime of the varsity girls’ game, we will also honor our 7th and 8th grade basketball teams for winning their respective championships. Players and coaches will be recognized at center court and each player will receive a medal.
Come out, be loud, wear pink, and support the Lady Wildcats and Wildcats for a meaningful day of basketball and purpose!
