Amelia holding pennant for Kennesaw State

Valdosta High School senior Amelia Trieu has officially signed with Kennesaw State University to compete in D1-A Advanced Competitive Cheerleading — becoming the first cheerleader in VHS history to sign early!

Amelia’s journey makes this moment even more special. When she came to VHS as a freshman after being homeschooled, Coach Blankumsee saw her potential and encouraged her to try out for the team. From that point on, Amelia put in the work.

Through relentless dedication, discipline, and countless hours of training, she developed into a record-setting athlete and leader in our program. The opportunities were there — but it was Amelia’s commitment and drive that turned those opportunities into achievement.

This milestone reflects the power of mentorship, teamwork, and a school community that believes in its students — combined with a young woman who refused to settle for anything less than her best.

Behind this accomplishment stands a village — coaches who poured into her, teammates who pushed her, and parents who believed in her every step of the way.

Amelia’s story is proof of what can happen when preparation meets opportunity — and when you truly BelieVe in the V.

Congratulations, Amelia! We can’t wait to cheer you on at the next level!

Once a Wildcat, Always a Wildcat.
