The VHS Marching Cats Dance and Guard Auxiliary will hold its annual audition camp and actual auditions beginning Tuesday, February 27th through Friday March 1st. Auditions will be held in the VHS Dance Studio from 3:45 PM until 6:00 PM. Any student interested in auditioning is required to turn in their signed audition forms and teacher recommendations to Coach Cook by Friday, February 23rd. VMS Students Win Martin Luther King, Jr. Poetry and Poster Contest.
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Association organizes the contest each year and winners receive monetary prizes and certificates. From Valdosta Middle School, Devinajah Rayford won first place in the middle school poetry division for her poem, Martin Luther King Inspired Me, and Zy'Geria Phillips took 2nd place in the middle school poster division. Congratulations, ladies. VMS is Wildcat proud.

Valdosta Middle School student wins Valdosta City Schools’ District Spelling Bee
Eighth grader Sophia Moore is Valdosta City Schools’ spelling bee champion. She competed against all grade levels and will go on to represent VCS in the District 9 Regional Competition. Congratulations Sophia an way to go Cats!

Valdosta Middle School students selected for District Honor Band
Congratulations to Kaylee Davis, Alice Wolfe, and Jasharia Finnissee (as pictured) who traveled to Ware County Middle School to represent VMS in District Honor Band auditions. They have been selected to perform in the District 8 Middle School Honor Band in February. Way to Go Cats!


VMS FBLA students visited the Fall Motivational Rally in Perry, GA. This Rally left students excited for the upcoming year as they were able to see future opportunities and events!

Students return to school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 following the closures due to Hurricane Idalia. All bus stops will remain the same. Please be patient as some routes may be a little delayed in the mornings and afternoons. We appreciate everyone working together to bring our students back into our schools.


Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31, due to widespread power outages and trees down across Valdosta-Lowndes County. District staff have limited access to communication tools but will work closely with Lowndes County Emergency Management to provide updates.
