Schools will reopen this morning, Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Please be aware that the VCS Transportation Department has received the following information from our local emergency response teams:
There are a few roads still closed - Gornto between Azalea and Oak, Jerry Jones just south of Gornto, and a few smaller roads that are one-lane, but most of the streets within our city were cleared yesterday.
This information will affect the following bus routes:
S L Mason, VMS, VHS Route 20-87 & Route 15-28
Special Education Routes (2-3 routes)
VECA Route 12-2 & 20-86
HLC route 20-88
Our drivers will take alternate routes in order to get to the bus stops within these areas if they are able to safely due so. If our buses cannot safely get near those areas that are still inaccessible, we may not be able those transport students. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We also would like to thank our local officials and emergency responders for their fast and efficient efforts following yesterday's storms.
