Parents and guardians please make sure to bring your scholars out for this fun filled learning event. There will be some exciting experiments, games, and learning activities all dealing with S.T.E.A.M. You will receive strategies and ideas that you can use at home to help your scholars be successful in these areas. The book fair will also be here so make your way on stage to check it out. As always your input is greatly appreciated so make sure to get an input form to let us know how we can use the 1% set aside and what professional learning you think our staff can use in order to better help you.

Topics discussed will be the importance of parent engagement, parent input, and Dr. Sheila Thomas of Thomas Consulting will be here to discuss reading strategies and how you can help your scholar at home to improve their reading skills. The first program begins at 9:00 and parents may enter at 8:45. The first program includes the following classes: All of Kindergarten, Pre k, Mrs. Norwood (2nd), and Ms. Perry (2nd). The second program begins at 12:45 and parents may enter at 12:30. The second program includes the following classes: All of 1st grade, Ms. L. Northcutt (2nd), Mrs.C. Nurse Hough is the BEST NURSE EVER! She has so much patience! Our student really wanted to hear his own heart beat so she shared her stethoscope and taught him what to do. She truly made his day!
What a great morning to come to Lomax for A Gift of Reading. Thank you to all of the parents, grandparents, and guardians who came out to read not only with their scholar but the whole class!! We have the best time when we come together.

Parent Engagement Month and Attendance Awareness was celebrated on Friday, November 18. Parents were greeted with smiles, reminders of the importance of attendance by staff and community stakeholders. They were able to get a sweet treat with a note of thanks from Ms. Kimbrough who serves as the Parent and Family Engagement Coordinator for Lomax.

If your scholar missed picture day in October they will be able to take pictures on November 29 during picture retake day. Also, those wishing to retake their pictures may do so at this time.
