After School Activities Cancelled

11:30 am:
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate today’s changing weather conditions. We understand that days like today can feel a little unnerving, and we want you to know that your students are cared for and protected while they are in our schools.

Please be aware that all after-school activities across Valdosta City Schools are cancelled today. This includes athletics, the 21st Century After-School Program, Boys & Girls Club, and YMCA PrimeTime. All students should leave campus at the conclusion of the school day.

Safety is the foundation of all that we do in Valdosta City Schools, and we appreciate the trust you place in our staff each day to care for your children.

Thank you for your patience and partnership.

10:43 am:
The shelter-in-place at all Valdosta City Schools has been lifted, and students and staff are now returning to normal classroom activities.

Our teams will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the day. Should additional updates or safety notifications become necessary, families will be notified through our mass communication system.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we worked to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

10:27 am
All Valdosta City Schools are currently sheltering in place due to severe weather and are following all VCS safety protocols.

Students and staff are safe and being cared for by school personnel.

For safety reasons, students will not be dismissed while schools remain in shelter-in-place status. We ask families not to travel to schools or attempt to check out students during this weather event.

Updates will be shared through the VCS mass communication system and official district platforms.
