Every week students go to the science lab with Ms. DeWeese and their science teachers to help bring science to life with hands on labs and lessons! This week students built a retaining wall model to show how humans can help the earth by slowing down or stopping erosion from occurring by engineering man made structures. Absenteeism is a lost opportunity to learn. We can’t afford to think of absenteeism as merely a lack of compliance with school rules.
Parents and families are essential partners in promoting good attendance because they have the bottom-line responsibility for making sure their children get to school every day. Just as parents should focus on how their children are performing academically, they have a responsibility to set expectations for good attendance and to monitor their children’s absences, so that missed days don’t add up to academic trouble.

Pre-K Spotlight: The students were introduced to a new 📕 book ,The Little Red Hen and were shown a loaf of bread. 🐔🍞 The children were asked have they ever made bread from a recipe? We informed the students that baking bread is a lot of work so the hen is asking her friends to help her. After the story, the students used heavy whipping cream, salt, and a container. We passed the container around so that everyone could have a chance to shake it. The students observed the butter going from a liquid to a solid. Each student was given a spoonful of butter to spread on their beard to taste during snack time.
The standard that was covered was "Listens and responds on topic to conversations and group discussions for an extended time. "
Way to go Mrs. Sales class in Pre-K! 🎉
