Superintendent's Message

Dear Wildcat Nation,

It is my distinct honor to serve as your 11th Superintendent of Valdosta City Schools.  This school system has a rich history of award-winning achievement and performance, and I look forward to partnering with you as we uphold our precious traditions and heritage.

The theme for the school year is “The Three V Initiative:  Vision, Values and Victory.”  The Vision is to improve students’ success in their achievement and performance.  This includes making sure all of our students can read on grade level by the time they graduate.   We will focus on Values by teaching our students to learn and demonstrate positive character traits. I believe in firm, yet fair discipline in which we educate students so they can grow up to be productive citizens.  Lastly, we will ensure Victory by providing high quality training for our educators and utilizing efficient operational practices.  When combined, our Vision, Values, and Victory theme will lead our school system to heightened levels of success.

An unspoken “V” that is critical to our success is the Village.  We will partner with our families, churches, civic groups, agencies, and the entire community to help raise our children in the way they should go. Together, we will make the difference we wish to see for our future generations.

I am proud to serve this dynamic school system, and I look forward to meeting many of you as we work to build a better community.  Valdosta City Schools is prepared to see unprecedented levels of greatness, and I look forward to this journey with you all.  Best wishes for a magnificent school year!
