Valdosta City Schools has been in constant communication with local emergency management officials throughout the day and into this evening. After the latest briefing and out of an abundance of caution, the district will be closed on Friday, May 10, 2024.

Valdosta City Schools has been in communication with our local emergency management officials as everyone monitors impending weather patterns expected this afternoon and on Friday, May 10.
Current data shows that tomorrow's storms are expected to enter the area after students arrive on campus. At this time, the plan is to have school as normal on Friday, May 10, understanding that our facilities provide a safe shelter for adults and students. Should something change overnight, we will issue a statement as early as possible tomorrow morning.
