Valdosta City Schools was recognized with nine Awards of Excellence during the Georgia School Public Relations Association (GSPRA) Annual Conference, held October 20–22 in Rome, Georgia.
Each year, GSPRA honors school public relations professionals from across Georgia who demonstrate outstanding skill in publications, photography, videography, and electronic media. The awards program highlights exceptional work that strengthens communication between schools and their communities—informing, inspiring, and engaging parents, students, staff, business partners, and stakeholders across the state.
Valdosta City Schools submitted nine entries, and all nine received recognition—earning top honors for creativity, clarity, and community impact.

The Valdosta City Schools Public Relations Department, led by Mrs. Jennifer Steedley, Director of Public Relations, and Mrs. Candacey Griffin, Communications Specialist, continues to elevate the district’s brand and communication efforts.
Through clear messaging and creative storytelling, the team ensures that the district’s Vision, Values, and Victory are shared in meaningful, impactful, and even fun ways. Their ongoing mission is to engage the entire community in building an army of BelieVers who support and celebrate #The3VWay.
Mrs. Steedley and Mrs. Griffin represented Valdosta City Schools at this year’s GSPRA Conference, where they networked with other communication professionals, shared best practices, and celebrated excellence in school public relations statewide.
