Valdosta High School’s Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) has once again earned the title of Distinguished Unit for 2025, marking another consecutive year of excellence and dedication. This prestigious recognition is awarded by the United States Navy to the top-performing NJROTC units across the nation that demonstrate exceptional achievement in academics, leadership, citizenship, and community service.
Under the leadership of Senior Chief Willis and HM1 Williams, the Valdosta NJROTC program continues to set the standard for excellence. Cadets have excelled in multiple areas—including drill, academics, physical fitness, and orienteering—while maintaining a strong presence in community outreach and volunteer service.
“This honor reflects the hard work and discipline of our cadets,” said Senior Chief Willis. “They continue to uphold the Navy’s core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment both in and out of uniform.”
Earning the Distinguished Unit designation places Valdosta NJROTC among the top programs in Area Ten and across the country. The recognition highlights not only the cadets’ performance but also their teamwork, school pride, and leadership development.
As Valdosta NJROTC celebrates another year of distinction, the unit remains committed to building the next generation of leaders—young men and women who will serve their communities and their country with honor.
Congratulations to the entire Valdosta NJROTC team on this outstanding achievement!
