Valdosta City Schools is proud to recognize Joy Roberts, social studies teacher at Valdosta High School, who recently participated in a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms orientation in Washington, DC. Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the program brought together 120 educators from across the nation for professional development focused on global education, educational technology, and teaching history in celebration of Freedom 250.
During the experience, Mrs. Roberts also had the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Senegalese Embassy as part of her preparation for an upcoming international field experience in Senegal. She will represent Valdosta City Schools and the United States while collaborating with educators and communities abroad. The knowledge and global perspectives gained through this program will be shared with students and colleagues, further strengthening global learning opportunities within the district.
