The Valdosta Board of Education proudly recognized several outstanding student groups during the March 24 Work Session, celebrating excellence across academics, the arts, literacy, and career readiness.
Students participating in the District Honor Choral Showcase were recognized for their outstanding musical achievement and representation of Valdosta City Schools through their dedication to the performing arts.
VCS students who attended TomeCon26 were honored for their success at the largest Tome Student Literacy Society conference, where they showcased creativity, strong reading engagement, and earned top placements in multiple competitions.
The SkillsUSA team from Newbern Middle School was recognized for making history at the state championships, earning top honors across numerous categories and advancing to national competition through their impressive demonstration of workforce-ready skills.
Members of the Valdosta High School Mock Trial Team were also celebrated after capturing both Region and District titles and advancing to the state competition in just their second year, highlighting their professionalism, preparation, and teamwork.
