Greta Smith was recently presented with the Coin of Victory, one of only two awarded this summer, in recognition of her exceptional leadership, dedication, and service to Valdosta City Schools.
Before the first bell rings each morning, Greta is already helping ensure our schools are clean, welcoming, and ready for students and staff. Her commitment, strong work ethic, and attention to detail make a lasting impact across our district, even when much of her work happens behind the scenes.
As Superintendent Dr. Craig Lockhart shared:
"Every successful school day begins long before the first student walks through our doors, and Greta Smith plays an essential role in making that possible. Her dedication, work ethic, and attention to detail ensure our schools are clean, welcoming, and prepared for learning every single day. Greta leads by example, often working long hours without seeking recognition, simply because she takes pride in serving our students and staff. It is an honor to present her with the Coin of Victory in appreciation of her outstanding leadership, exceptional service, and unwavering commitment to Valdosta City Schools.”
Congratulations, Greta, and thank you for your tireless dedication to our students, staff, and schools. Your leadership and servant's heart embody what it means to BelieVe in the V.
