On Friday, July 10, the Valdosta High School NJROTC Leadership Team and Team Commanders gathered with the NJROTC instructors and Principal Dr. J. Marshall to officially kick off preparations for the upcoming school year. The leadership meeting focused on "Beginning with the End in Mind" by establishing clear goals, setting high expectations, and developing a shared vision for a successful year ahead.
Throughout the meeting, cadet leaders discussed the importance of leading by example, fostering teamwork, and creating a positive culture within the NJROTC unit. By setting expectations early, the leadership team is committed to ensuring every cadet has the opportunity to grow academically, personally, and as a leader.
As a special gesture of support, Dr. Marshall presented each cadet leader with a copy of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, encouraging them to embrace the principles of responsibility, initiative, effective communication, and character as they lead their peers throughout the year. His investment in the cadets' personal development reinforces the school's commitment to cultivating tomorrow's leaders.
To conclude the meeting, Dr. Marshall treated the cadet leaders to lunch from Olive Garden, providing an opportunity for fellowship and meaningful conversation outside the classroom.
The Valdosta NJROTC program is excited about the year ahead and is confident that, with dedicated leadership, clear expectations, and a commitment to excellence, this school year will be one of growth, achievement, and success.
