As we kicked off the 2026-2027 school year at Convocation, we welcomed back the incredible teachers and staff who make Valdosta City Schools shine every day.
From an inspiring student performance to an unforgettable message from keynote speaker Sam Glenn, one theme echoed throughout the day: NeVer, NeVer, NeVer Quit BelieVing in the V.
A lighthouse cannot stop the storm, but it can shine through it.
That reminder challenged each of us to focus on what we can control: our attitude, our actions, and the light we choose to bring into every classroom, hallway, office, and bus ride. While we cannot control every circumstance our students, families, or coworkers may face, we can choose to be a source of hope, encouragement, and consistency.
Today, our Wildcats walked through the doors for the first day of school, and because of the dedication of our educators and staff, we know they were welcomed by people ready to be that light.
Here is to a year of leading with purpose, serving with heart, and continuing to BelieVe in the V, where Vision, Values, and Victory guide everything we do.
