The Valdosta City Schools Foundation is kicking off its annual Employee Giving Campaign with a challenge to VCS employees and a month dedicated to sharing the stories behind the impact.
The BelieVe. Give. NeVer Quit. campaign runs August 31 through September 30 with a simple message: Four weeks. Lifetime impact.
Last year, 351 VCS employees supported the Foundation through monthly payroll deduction, pledging $2,625 each month. Another 56 employees made one-time gifts totaling $2,595. Together, VCS employees pledged more than $34,000 in annual support for the work of the Foundation.
This year, the Foundation hopes to grow its monthly payroll deduction program from 351 to 400 Wildcat donors.
While reaching that goal is important, the 2026 campaign will focus on more than numbers.
Throughout September, the Foundation will share stories from the students, employees, teachers, and classrooms that have benefited from Foundation support, giving donors an opportunity to see what happens when hundreds of individual gifts come together.
During the 2025-26 school year, the VCS Foundation helped facilitate more than $43,500 in scholarships, including 46 scholarships totaling $33,500 for graduating seniors from Valdosta High School and Valdosta Early College Academy and five REACH Georgia Scholarships totaling $10,000 for middle school students. The Foundation also awarded scholarships to two VCS employees continuing their own education.
Two new scholarships have already been established for members of the Class of 2027.
Beyond scholarships, Foundation support helps provide classroom grants, school-level support, programs, resources, and experiences for students and employees throughout Valdosta City Schools.
Over the next four weeks, those numbers will become faces and stories as the Foundation shares firsthand accounts from people who have benefited from its work.

VCS Employees Can Give Two Ways
Monthly Payroll Deduction
Employees paid through the Valdosta Board of Education may choose a monthly contribution beginning with the October 30, 2026 paycheck.

One-Time Gift
Employees may also choose to make a one-time contribution.

Employees who contribute at least $5 per month or make a one-time gift of at least $60 by September 30 will be entered into the Foundation's annual gift card drawing.
All campaign forms and one-time payments must be received by Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
