The Valdosta City Schools Behavior Intervention Specialists recently had the opportunity to present at the Georgia Association of Alternative Education (GAAE) Conference in Marietta, Georgia. Their presentation, "Changing the Lens: Alternative Mindsets for Challenging Behaviors," highlighted a topic they are deeply passionate about and one that continues to guide their work in supporting students across the district.

Throughout the conference, the team had the privilege of learning alongside state administrators, district leaders, school superintendents, and fellow educators from across Georgia. The conference provided valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, explore innovative practices, and cultivate meaningful professional relationships with others committed to improving outcomes for students.

The team left the conference with more connections, more resources, and more reason to BelieVe that tomorrow can be better for the students and schools they serve.

While the conference has concluded, the work continues. The Behavior Intervention Specialists are actively reflecting on the knowledge and strategies gained and are working to incorporate those takeaways into their daily practice. Their goal remains to strengthensupportsfor students, collaborate with school teams, and positively influence the continued growth of Valdosta City Schools.
