The Student Support Services Division recently gathered for our first division meeting of the year, kicking off with inspiring updates and a warm welcome from our Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services, Mr. Royce Thomas.
Throughout the meeting, our team had the privilege of connecting with several key partners and district leaders. Dr. Tammie Patterson, Executive Director for the Child Advocacy Center of Lowndes County, shared insightful information regarding their trauma-focused care and support processes for children and families.
Mr. Anthony Lewis from DFCS (District 5) highlighted the "On Demand" SNAP interview process and provided essential updates on the ABAWD program to help us better guide our families. Additionally, District MV Liaison Ms. Amiya Allen shared McKinney-Vento updates and the appointment process for The Cat’s Closet, while our Director of Safety & Security, Mrs. Sabrina Smith, reviewed legal compliance and key guidelines for student investigations.
In recognition of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, our team proudly wore purple as a visible commitment that every student's story matters and no one has to walk through tough times alone.
Student Support Services: Supporting minds, touching hearts, and standing together for every student, every day.
