What a wonderful way to kick off Pre-K Week at S.L. Mason Elementary!
S.L. Mason Pre-K had the pleasure of welcoming Valdosta Mayor Scott Matheson, Superintendent Dr. Lockhart, and State Representative John LaHood for a special morning of reading and fun!
Our students were engaged from beginning to end as they listened to stories, answered questions, and even got the opportunity to do a happy dance with Mayor Matheson! What a fun and memorable experience for our little learners!
The excitement continued as each student received a backpack filled with books from Ferst Readers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting early childhood literacy. These books will give our students the opportunity to continue building a love for reading and enjoying books with their families at home.
And the surprises didn't stop there! After Mayor Matheson read If You Give a Dog a Donut, Principal Moody treated our Pre-K students to a delicious donut! What a sweet surprise for our students!
A very special THANK YOU to Mayor Matheson, Representative LaHood, Dr. Lockhart, Principal Moody, Ferst Readers, and all of the district staff who partnered with Ms. Dariso, VCS Pre-K Coordinator, to make this event such a wonderful success.
What a fantastic way to celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week and remind our students that reading is something to be celebrated!
