Celebrating Perfect Attendance at J.L. Newbern Middle School!
The Valdosta City Schools 21st Century Community Learning Centers After School Program provides students with valuable opportunities to receive homework assistance, English tutoring, and math tutoring.
In addition to academic support, our scholars at J.L. Newbern Middle School participate in engaging enrichment activities, including African Dance, Physical Fitness, and Social Emotional Learning and Character Development activities.
The key to experiencing the full benefits of our program is daily attendance!
We are proud to recognize the students who demonstrated their commitment by attending the program every day in August! The J.L. Newbern Site Manager, Dr. Brianna Shackelford, and the dedicated tutors presented these scholars with Perfect Attendance Certificates in recognition of their achievement.
Congratulations to all of our August Perfect Attendance scholars!
We look forward to celebrating even more students who attend every day in September!

NMS will begin GMAS testing tomorrow. Parents make sure that your child gets a good night's sleep. Please make sure that they arrive at school by 8:30 a.m. We will provide each student with breakfast. Encourage your child to take their time and give their best effort on the test.
Join us tonight for the NMS S.T.E.A.M Parent Night at the Newbern Middle School gym from 6-7 p.m. We have some fun, engaging activities planned for our students and parents. Refreshments will be served.
