Buses and car riders will be dismissed as they arrive on campus starting at 1 p.m.
Report Cards will be sent home with students.
Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21, 2024 for Newbern Middle School Honor's Night from 6-7 p.m. in the NMS Gymnasium.
GMAS Testing has begun and will officially end May 10th. Please make sure your child gets adequate rest, arrives at school on time, and eats a good breakfast. Students are required to turn ALL cell phone devices off and give them to their teacher during testing time. Breakfast is available for them at school. Please encourage your child to give their best effort.
We apologize for the late notice. Due to the flash flood warning issued by the National Weather Service, Valdosta City Schools (Newbern Middle School) will be closed today, Thursday, April 11, 2024. We will reopen on Friday, April 12, 2024. Everyone, please be safe.
Dear Valdosta City Schools (Newbern Middle School) Community,
Overnight storms have downed trees in the city, making several school routes impassable. In addition, there are massive power outages that are impacting some of our schools and homes.
Valdosta City Schools will be closed for Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Students will be excused for this absence, and there will be no afterschool activities today.
School is expected to resume on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Please be careful and stay safe.
Parents of girls interested in middle school volleyball, mark your calendars for Monday, March 25, 2024 at 6:00 pm There will be an interest meeting held in the VMS Cafeteria where Coach Bryan Deal will discuss the sport, answer any questions and go over the volleyball tryout process. If you need more information, contact bryan.deal@gocats.org.

NMS Family. Students ARE NOT allowed to wear Halloween costumes to school. Please make sure that your child is following the VCS dresscode policy. JL Newbern Middle School will be Presenting Literacy & Math Night , November 2,2023 from 6:00- 7:00 pm. in the Newbern's School Cafeteria. Child care and dinner will be served.
