👟🏀Kicks for Cats!🏀👟 We are proud to announce SME's participation for this wonderful cause! The shoes collected will be divided amongst our team members of SME and then other VCS elementary schools. The goal is to distribute 100 pairs of shoes! Be sure to mark the date to come cheer on our SME team!!📣

Introducing SME's Ladies of Excellence🌟 Mission: Our end goal is to foster and promote an air of accountable and responsible citizens in the school, home, and community. As our fifth graders leave Sallas Mahone in body, the spirit of their legacy is carried through our existing third and fourth graders; as the fifth graders leave for middle school, the culture that has been inculcated will be preserved by the remaining members who will carry the torch. We believe that a select group of students who model exemplary conduct and academic prowess before the entire student body creates the opportunity for positive active and passive peer mentoring, which we believe will decrease the number of behavior referrals in students and increase the percentage of students meeting the academic level of proficiency in 3rd through 5th grades. Through our mentoring program, Sallas Mahone students will have another source of motivation to strive for excellence in the school setting. We believe that the benefits of the mentoring program will promulgate positive student behaviors that will spill over into the home and marginally and incrementally impact our community for the better. #SMECapturetheCulture

❄️Winter Break is coming!❄️ We will have early dismissal on Tuesday, Dec. 20th. More details will be sent home and posted soon. Daycare parents, please be sure that your child's daycare will be providing early pick-up on Tuesday.

🎄SME will celebrate the final 7 days of school with our annual holiday dress-up days leading up to Winter Break (Dec. 21st-Jan. 5th)!🎄 We will kick off our merrymaking this coming Monday, Dec. 12th. We hope that you will participate with us! You may also find these days listed on our Parent & Family Engagement Events Calendar. Reminder, if your child does not participate in the dress-up day, they must wear their required uniform attire.

SAVE THE DATE!! Students will begin participating in school level Spelling Bees. The top 3 from each school will move on to the VCS District Spelling Bee.
