Bus riders are scheduled to dismiss at 12:30 today. Please have someone home to receive students in case of early arrival.
Daycare riders are still scheduled to dismiss at 11:30.
Car riders are still scheduled to dismiss at 11:15 (PreK-2nd Grade) and 11:30 (3rd-5th Grade).

🔎🐾 Cats Caught Reading at Sallas Mahone!
Early literacy begins with us. When grownups take time to read with children, we show them that stories matter. Thank you to Ms. Katonia Williams and Ms. Jennifer Hay for modeling the joy of reading.
And our Wildcats took it even further—turning their reading corner into a monster reading cave! Every page turned builds their love for stories and learning.

Please be advised that there will be an early dismissal on Friday, December 19th. If your student is changing their usual method of transportation, a note from the parent with permission must be provided to the teacher.
Additionally, please check with your daycare to confirm they will be picking up your student at the scheduled time.

Mrs. Carrillo shared this special moment about her student Ron:
"Ron, my second grade student, came to school this morning and asked if he could read a book to his classmates. The book's title is Love, by Matt de la Peña. He said he wanted to read it to everyone so we could learn about love and how to love each other. He is the true definition of a kind student. He is a leader in setting an example of love, respect, and kindness in the classroom!"

Sallas Mahone Elementary Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Picture Book Team was recognized at the school board meeting for winning first and second place in the district. They then advanced to the State Competition in Macon on November 8th—where they earned 1st in the Southern District and 1st in the State. This achievement reflects their incredible hard work, dedication, and love of reading!
Fifth grade student, Rylee Shaw, was recognized at the VCS board meeting last night as being the HOLIDAY CARD art design winner! Congratulations, Rylee - we are so proud of you!
