Valdosta City Schools will observe an Asynchronous Learning Day on March 13, 2026. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate in parent-teacher conferences scheduled throughout the day.
Conferences will provide an opportunity to discuss the student’s academic progress, strengths, areas for improvement, and to review the School–Parent Compact and district policies.

Join us this evening from 5:30-6:30pm for our "Lucky to Be a Reader" Family Night. We will have two repeating parent sessions. Session 1 is for Kindergarten through 5th Grades and is called "The Pillars of Reading: Building Strong Reader-Leaders." This will be in the SME Library and will teach the essential components of reading instruction and how they work together to build strong readers. Session 2 is for Kindergarten through 2nd Grades and is called "Supporting Beginning Readers: Partnering for Growth." Join us in Room 6 on the Kindergarten hall to learn practical strategies and tools to help children as they begin their reading journey. Each session will be presented from 5:30-6:00 and then again from 6:00-6:30, allowing you to attend both. We hope to see you there!
