📚Book Fair time is coming!📚 Sallas Mahone will have a Scholastic Book Fair Sat., Sept. 28th from 10 AM-12 PM and Sept. 30-Oct. 4 from 7:00 AM-2:00 PM. You may send in cash or set up your eWallet for a cashless transaction using the following link, https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/sallasmahoneelementarysch1 ! **We suggest setting up an eWallet for our younger students.** Online shopping is September 30 - October 13. **Note: Teachers may schedule a class visit time so be sure to stay in contact with your child's teacher.

🚗We are inviting our SME Families to join us this Thursday, September 19th for our Tailgate Trail!🚙 Come join us on the trail behind our school from 5:30-6:30 PM with tailgating cars and trucks set up with literacy focused activities and games! We look forward to seeing you here!

📢SME Family, reminder that VCS will have early dismissal this coming Friday, September 13th.📢 If your child will have a change of transportation, please contact and inform your child's teacher (each homeroom teacher, for each grade level) of their change of transportation. SME dismissal times: Car Riders: Pre-K, K, 1, 2 @11:45, Grades 3-5 @12:00pm Daycare: 12:00 pm. Please contact your child’s daycare to make sure they are picking up. If not, please make other arrangements. VCS Buses: Buses will be dismissed as they enter campus. Approx. 12:30pm buses are scheduled to leave SME campus, but make sure someone is at home to receive children off the bus in case they arrive earlier.

We invite our parents to our first annual Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting, this Wednesday, August 28th! This meeting will be held in Room 4, 12:30-1:30 PM. Swing by for a moment, bring your lunch if needed, and join in the conversations that will direct our path throughout the school year!

🌈Next week we will blast with color each day of the week!🌈 August 12th-16th we will wear a color a day to help our kindergartners learn their colors! Mon., Aug. 12th: Red Tues., Aug. 13th: Orange Wed., Aug. 14th: Green Thurs., Aug. 15th: Blue Fri., Aug. 16th: Yellow Note: If your child opts out of wearing the color of the day they must wear their dress code uniform.

This morning Sallas Mahone Elementary was awarded the 2024 Georgia's Military Flagship School Award!🎉 Thank you to Georgia's State School Superintendent, Dr. Richard Woods, and other representatives for traveling to our school and presenting this honorary award. This award recognizes schools that go above and beyond to provide a supportive environment for military students and families. Our military mentoring program was established in 2005 and was soon named the Scott Craven Program in 2006 following the death of one of the dedicated airmen who volunteered regularly with Sallas Mahone to ensure that our military children were taken care of during a parent's deployment.
