Two Events in One!
Join us for our Annual Title I Meeting AND Parents are Teachers, Too on Tuesday, August 26!
Our Title I Meeting will be from 5:00-5:30 in the gym. From there, we will go to the grade level hallways, where you will hear about what your child is learning and how you can help support learning at home.
We will have two sessions of Parents are Teachers, Too. The first is from 5:30-6:00 and the second is from 6:00-6:30.
We also have our PreK Parent Orientation at 4:00pm in the Media Center. PreK Parents: Come here about what your child is learning in PreK and how you can help at home!
We hope to see you then!

Nuestra reunión de Título I será de 5:00 a 5:30 en el gimnasio. Después, nos dirigiremos a los pasillos de cada grado, donde les contaremos lo que está aprendiendo su hijo/a y cómo pueden apoyar el aprendizaje en casa.

SME Parents:
NEXT Friday, August 29th, we will have an early dismissal due to VHS Homecoming. Please refer to the following dismissal times to know when to pick up or receive your child(ren):
Car Riders: PreK, K, 1, 2 @ 11:15AM; Grades 3-5 @ 11:30AM - Please display your printed car tags in your car window.
If you will be picking up your child in the car rider line this day and currently do not have a car rider tag, please request one early via our school website (Menu: Parents: Car Rider Tag Request).
Daycare: 11:30AM - Please contact your child's daycare to make sure they are picking up early. If not, make other arrangements.
VCS Buses: Approximately 12:30 PM - Bus riders will be released as buses arrive on campus. Please make sure someone is at home to receive children off the bus.

We had so much fun with Color Week!
Be sure to get your school uniforms ready for next week! Uniforms are required Monday through Thursday. Students may opt to wear black and gold or the Sallas Mahone t-shirt on Fridays instead of uniforms. Go Cats!

Cookie Dough Fundraiser begins today, August 8!

Information and flyers will be sent home today, so be sure to check your child's folder and communicate with your child's teacher to learn more!

Face Painting!
Tomorrow, August 8, SME will offer face painting for $2.00! A yellow permission home has been sent home with your child. You will need to send in the permission form and money with your child for them to turn in to their homeroom teacher.

Our first Parent Advisory Council Meeting will be tomorrow, August 7, from 12:30-1:30, in the media center. Come learn about upcoming events, ways to volunteer, Leader in Me, and our school goals. All are welcome!

Attention Car Riders
If you do not have a car rider tag, please request one through the Parents tab on our school website: http://www.gocats.org/o/sme.
We will print a tag and contact the parent/guardian at the number on school records for pickup method.
Having a car rider tag will help us continue to dismiss our students safely and quickly.

📢SME Families, reminder that VCS will have early dismissal on Friday, May 23rd.📢 If your child will have a change of transportation, please contact and inform your child's teacher (each homeroom teacher, for each grade level) of their change of transportation. SME dismissal times: Car Riders: Pre-K, K, 1, 2 @11:45, Grades 3-5 @12:00pm Daycare: 11:45pm. Please contact your child’s daycare to make sure they are picking up. If not, please make other arrangements. VCS Buses: Buses will be dismissed as they enter campus. Approx. 12:30pm buses are scheduled to leave SME campus, but make sure someone is at home to receive children off the bus in case they arrive earlier.
