You will also get the opportunity to give us feedback.

This year, some of our elective teachers teamed up with SME students to celebrate Christmas by spreading joy and kindness in our community. 🎄🥰
Together, they created Christmas cards filled with uplifting messages. These special cards were delivered to our local nursing homes. The nursing homes were so thankful to receive the thoughtful creations from our talented students.

📢SME Families, reminder that VCS will have early dismissal tomorrow Friday, December 20th.📢
If your child will have a change of transportation, please contact and inform your child's teacher (each homeroom teacher, for each grade level) of their change of transportation. SME dismissal times:
Car Riders: Pre-K, K, 1, 2 @11:45, Grades 3-5 @12:00pm
Daycare: 12:00 pm. Please contact your child’s daycare to make sure they are picking up. If not, please make other arrangements.
VCS Buses: Buses will be dismissed as they enter campus. Approx. 12:30pm buses are scheduled to leave SME campus, but make sure someone is at home to receive children off the bus in case they arrive earlier.
📖SME's Gift of Reading📖
Families, come join us on Friday, December 13th, during your child's grade level designated time (listed below) to enjoy a reading event in your child's classroom! Each classroom will hold their own special event with a focus on reading.
We cannot wait to flood our halls with visitors to share the love of reading and to inspire our students with the passion to read! What better gift to provide our students, than the gift of reading this holiday season?
Kinder., 1st, & 2nd grades: 9:00-9:30 AM then, 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades: 9:45-10:15 AM.

For the remainder of the week , parents need to use North Oak Street Ext. for drop offs and pick ups. DO NOT use the Cherry Creek Rd. to enter or exit onto Lake Laurie due to a road closure on Cherry Creek Rd. Stay safe SME Families!
Mr. Kvonne Oliver, VCS Social Services Case Manager for Attendance, and Mrs. Jennifer Hay, SME School Social Worker, celebrated excellent attendance this morning at SME!
Of all of the students who have had perfect attendance this year, twelve names were drawn to receive a one hour gaming session at Koa's Gaming Lounge! Congratulations to these students and a big "Thank you!" to Koa's Gaming Lounge for supporting attendance at SME!
🌮SME kicked off their Book Taco with sustained silent reading (SSR) united in the hallways. We are raising readers who will be leaders!

Our rescheduled book fair will take place beginning this Saturday, Nov. 16th, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Students will have an opportunity to shop throughout next week, Nov. 18th-22nd. Check with your child's teacher about specific times they may have scheduled to shop at the book fair!

Our very own SME family members who have served or are currently serving in one of our military branches, along with our students, will celebrate with a parade! The parade will begin at 8:30. Guests may arrive at 8:15.
Please note, if your child chooses to opt out of wearing red, white, and blue, they must adhere to school dress code by wearing their school uniform.
