🍁❗Parents, we need your help in collecting items for raffle baskets!❗🍁 We are in need of new items to place in raffle baskets. Please send any items that you are willing to donate with your child no later than October 11th. These baskets will be raffled at our first Storybook Fest & More event on Tuesday, October 24th! 🎗In October we Think Pink!🎗 Every Wednesday, in the month of October, we will honor survivors who have or current individuals who are struggling with cancer! Help us show support by wearing pink each Wednesday (Oct. 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th) during October! If your child opts out of wearing pink, they must wear their school uniform or participate in Wildcat Wednesday (wear Wildcat attire).

📸Picture Day, Thursday, October 5th!📸 Come dressed in your best and bring your biggest and brightest smiles! All students will take their annual pictures next Thursday. Your child is not required to wear school uniforms on this day.

🔔Early Dismissal this Friday, Sept. 15th🔔 Car riders will begin dismissing as early as 11:45. Remember, if you have a child in 3rd-5th grade and in the lower grades (Pre-K-2nd), you will come during the upper grade's dismissal (12:00 PM). Daycare will begin loading at 12:00 PM. Bus riders will begin loading buses at 12:30 PM, or as they arrive on campus. Don't forget to notify your child's teacher if there will be a change of transportation from their regular mode of transportation. Thank you for helping to ensure a safe and smooth early dismissal!

If your child's normal mode of transportation changes, please notify your child's teacher as soon as possible to ensure a safe pick-up or drop-off. Students return to school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 following the closures due to Hurricane Idalia. All bus stops will remain the same. Please be patient as some routes may be a little delayed in the mornings and afternoons. We appreciate everyone working together to bring our students back into our schools.

Due to our current circumstances, we are postponing our events that were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5th, till a later date. We are kissing our SME Families!

Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31, due to widespread power outages and trees down across Valdosta-Lowndes County. District staff have limited access to communication tools but will work closely with Lowndes County Emergency Management to provide updates.

Sallas Mahone will be closed tomorrow as well. VCS will need time to assess damage, restore power, and clear roads. We will take it one day at a time. Check on each other. Y’all be safe.
