Last week, students in the Intro to Law & Public Safety class at Valdosta High School had the opportunity to observe valuable demonstrations from local professionals. The City of Valdosta Fire Department showcased the integration of technology in public safety with an impressive drone demonstration. Additionally, South Georgia Medical Center EMS provided an in-depth look at the inner workings of an ambulance and shared immediate job opportunities for students upon graduation. It was an engaging and informative experience that highlighted career possibilities in law enforcement, fire safety, and emergency medical services. #The3VWay

Dear Valdosta City School Families, At approximately 3:30 am this morning, the district was notified that flash flooding has made many of our roads in the city impassable. With the rain continuing to fall, local authorities have deemed that travel on these roads is too dangerous for school buses and other vehicles. Due to our inability to safely transport students to school and the timing of this event, Valdosta City Schools will be closed Thursday, November 7, 2024. We apologize for this late notice as this is an unexpected emergency that is still developing. We will provide more details once we learn more. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.
