📚The Spring Book Fair is coming!📚 Sallas Mahone's book fair will be open this Saturday, March 2nd from 10 AM-12 PM. The book fair will then be open the entire week, Monday-Friday, March 4th-8th during school hours. Please come and shop with your child on Saturday or allow your child to shop during the week!

Are you ready to help us celebrate reading?!🎉 We will celebrate Read Across America🌎 next week, Monday-Friday, March 4th-8th, by dressing up! Each day is designated to express how wild we are about reading! SME is wild about reading because words are everywhere, reading trains your brain, books brighten our world, and reading can make your dreams come true! Use the flyer to see your dress up days. 🔬🧪Calling all 4th and 5th grade scientists!🧪🔬 This Thursday, February 8th, our CATalyst teachers will hold an interest meeting during the 4th and 5th grade scheduled elective times. Students interested in participating in SME's Science Fair 2024 will come to Room 4 to learn more! We will share the expectations of the projects, along with other pertinent information. If they decide to proceed with the process, these students will come home with more information for you and your child to read over, sign, and return. We encourage all of our 4th and 5th graders to come learn how they can enhance and expand their learning beyond the classroom! Parents, we ask you to promote and encourage this wonderful opportunity for your child! You will also be a part of this process, so please be on the lookout for more information.

🍪It's fundraiser time!🍪 Our Cookie Dough Fundraiser is back! Today, your child will come home with a packet of information explaining how they have an opportunity to win some fun prizes. Some prizes include receiving free ice cream🍦 for 5 days from the lunchroom, a chance to spin the money wheel for cash💲, and more! Help your child earn their first prize by selling just 1 item! Two ways to sell: 1. In person option: Selling cookie dough from the pamphlet. Be sure to collect the orders and money prior to Friday, Feb. 9th. 2. 🏃🏽‍♀️Calling all SME girls from 3rd-5th grade! It is time for the spring sign up for Girls on the Run. This program is a fun, evidence-based program that inspires all girls to build their confidence, kindness and decision making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health. (Girls on the Run, South Georgia). Please use the information to sign up today! 📝🖼️We invite you, all of our SME Families, to join us for our 2nd annual Author and Art Exhibit on Thursday, January 18th, from 5:30-6:30 PM! 🖼️📝 Come discover all of the hard work your child has been putting into their writing and artwork this school year. We will even display those who have been awarded a ribbon of achievement. From these awarded writings, one writing per grade level will be chosen to submit to the district writing fair to possibly compete in the Young Georgia Author Writing Competition. SME had 2 of the 5 district winners last year! We hope that you can spare your time and support for all of these talented writers by stopping by next Thursday!
