🔔Early Dismissal this Friday, Sept. 15th🔔 Car riders will begin dismissing as early as 11:45. Remember, if you have a child in 3rd-5th grade and in the lower grades (Pre-K-2nd), you will come during the upper grade's dismissal (12:00 PM). Daycare will begin loading at 12:00 PM. Bus riders will begin loading buses at 12:30 PM, or as they arrive on campus. Don't forget to notify your child's teacher if there will be a change of transportation from their regular mode of transportation. Thank you for helping to ensure a safe and smooth early dismissal!

Students return to school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 following the closures due to Hurricane Idalia. All bus stops will remain the same. Please be patient as some routes may be a little delayed in the mornings and afternoons. We appreciate everyone working together to bring our students back into our schools.

Due to our current circumstances, we are postponing our events that were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5th, till a later date. We are kissing our SME Families!

Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31, due to widespread power outages and trees down across Valdosta-Lowndes County. District staff have limited access to communication tools but will work closely with Lowndes County Emergency Management to provide updates.

Sallas Mahone will be closed tomorrow as well. VCS will need time to assess damage, restore power, and clear roads. We will take it one day at a time. Check on each other. Y’all be safe.

🔔YEARBOOK DELIVERY🔔 First, and foremost, thank you for your patience as we have navigated through a transition in our PTO! If you are a verified purchaser of the 22-23 yearbook and your child is currently attending SME, your child will receive and bring home their yearbooks TODAY! If your child is now attending VMS and a verified purchaser, yearbooks will be delivered to the middle school today. These should be distributed within the middle school within the next couple of days. If your child is no longer at our school and you are a verified purchaser, but you are still located in the Valdosta area, you may come to our front office to pick up your yearbook. If your family has moved out of town, please contact the front office to verify purchase and discuss the best mode of delivery.
