VCS Bus 20-83 was in a very minor traffic accident this afternoon. All students on board are accounted for and no injuries have been reported. Though the bus did not sustain any major damage, students are being transitioned to bus 15-28 should be en route to their homes very soon.
After Spring Break WGN cafeteria staff sprung back into action by making 100% (A) on their health inspection. Congratulations WGN on an excellent job!!!!!

J. L. Newbern Middle School announces the 2023-24 Dance Team and Cheer Squad tryouts for upcoming 6th, 7th and 8th grade students.

The Program for Exceptional Children employees at Valdosta City School wore colorful socks to raise awareness of Down Syndrome in honor of World Down Syndrome Day.

The Valdosta City School Nutrition Program introduced a new breakfast item for National School Breakfast Week. The new cinnamon rolls were a great hit with our students and staff. Our SNP Director and Shipping/Receiving Clerk made it happen to bring in a new tasty item.

VCS will host the ESOL Family Day on Saturday, March 11 from 10 am until 12 pm at Valdosta Middle School.
Valdosta City School Nutrition Program enjoyed spending a day at Sallas Mahone Elementary School reading with the students. The Kindergarten class exhibited their beautiful cow colorings to show "Who Makes Milk?".
Valdosta City School Nutrition Program staff asked the Kindergarten classes Who Makes Milk? The students connected the numbers and colored the picture to answer "A Cow" makes milk. Awesome job to the all of the Kindergarten students of VCS.
Valdosta City Schools will be closed for Winter Break on Monday, February 13. Staff returns for an in-service day on Tuesday, February 14, however students remain on break. Students return to school on Wednesday, February 15. Enjoy the long weekend!
Valdosta High School will host the GHSA 7A South Wrestling Sectionals on Saturday, February 11. Tickets are $12 each and are available through GoFan (https://bit.ly/3xpYJIV). There are no child, student, or senior citizen discounts. All spectators are asked to enter through the upstairs entrance, no spectators are allowed on the gymnasium floor.
